Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV)

Adeno-associated virus (AAV) is known for its exceptional versatility, safety profile, and remarkable ability to transduce a wide array of cell types, making it a powerful tool for researches. AAV has found extensive use in both in vitro and in vivo gene delivery applications. At our facility, we take pride in our expertise in delivering top-notch AAV packaging services. Our AAV services boast high titer, purity, and consistency, ensuring the quality in your research endeavors. Partner with us to unlock the full potential of AAV in your genetic investigation.

AAV packaging services details:
  • Single-stranded (ssAAV) packaging
  • Triple-transfection-based packaging method
  • Iodixanol gradient ultracentrifugation for precise virus purification
  • Rigorous viral particle analysis through PAGE and qPCR
Scale Application Assured minimal titer and Volume* Price Turnaround**
Ultra-purified Mini Cell culture and in vivo > 1E13 GC/ml 250 ul $1084 3-4 weeks
Ultra-purified Midi Cell culture and in vivo > 1E13 GC/ml 500 ul $1638 3-4 weeks
Ultra-purified Maxi Cell culture and in vivo > 1E13 GC/ml 1000 ul $2046 5-6 weeks

GC- genome copies

*Typical titer is 2E13 GC/ml in 80% of projects. Certain vectors or sequences may influence the packaging process.

Certain AAV serotypes, such as 2, 3, 4 and 6, have been observed to yield lower titers compared to other serotypes. As a result, we can only guarantee 50% of the expected titer for these specific serotypes.

Achievable purity is >90% (based on PAGE), full capsid ratio is up to 80%.

Shipping and storage

AAV is stored in PBS-based buffer (pH 7.4) with addition of 1mM MgCl2, 0.0001% Tween20 and 0.0001% Pluronic F-127.

The AAV shipments packed with dry ice to maintain stability. Upon, receipt, it is advisable to store the AAV at -80oC fro long-term storage, ensuring its stability for at least one year. For short-term storage, such as 2-3 weeks, -20oC is suitable. Once thawed, the AAV virus can be stored at 4oC for 1-2 weeks. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Safety

One of the significant practical benefits of AAV lies in its compatibility with biosafety level 1 (BSL1) facilities. This is primarily because AAV is naturally replication-deficient, resulting in minimal or no inflammation, and it is not known to cause any human diseases.
